Acrylic paints are a new kind of extremely persistent paints. They are used not only in painting, but also in construction. Acrylic paints are often called "new generation finishing materials." Paints made of polyacrylates and their copolymers. They are held on glass, wood, stone, fabric, nails and many other surfaces. A feature of acrylic paints is their very quick drying. After drying, they will not be afraid of water and the sun. They do not crack from drying out. When using acrylic paints in painting, they most often use the property that paints combine the features of oil and watercolors. They can create both oil and watercolor paintings, which will then hold very well. In short, just a paradise for the artist. Learning to draw with acrylic paints is not difficult.

You will need:

Instruction manual:
  1. To get started, prepare the surface on which you will draw . It can be both paper and glass, wood , plastic and other materials. For the first time, you can try painting on plywood, a stretcher or canvas. On this basis, acrylic can easily catch. If desired, a layer of paper (textured or for origami) can be glued to the tree. If you decide to do so, then use special glue for decoupage . Cover them with a wooden surface, apply paper on top. Using a book, cardboard, or other object, try to remove air bubbles from under the paper. Wait for the glue to dry. Then apply another 10 coats of glue alternately.
  2. When the canvas is ready, check the condition of the acrylic paints . It is very difficult to work with dried acrylic. For an initial acquaintance with such paints, a set of 6 colors will be enough. They mix very easily and give many shades. Prepare a spray bottle. From time to time it is necessary to moisten the palette so that it does not dry out. Do not try to immediately squeeze out a paint designed for the entire drawing. This will also help to avoid drying out of the paint. Also, to maintain moderate humidity, you can now buy a wet palette. Absorbent paper is attached to it, which is moistened in water and put in the bottom of the palette, as well as parchment paper (put on top of the palette).
  3. Try adjusting the transparency of the colors with water. The more water you add to the paint, the more transparent the color will be. However, it must be remembered that when more than 20% of water is added, the paint may lose its property of being fixed on the surface. To obtain the effect of "soft glow", apply one translucent layer to another (after drying the previous layer). If the acrylic is not diluted too much, then a synthetic nylon brush is suitable. Remember: a thin transparent layer of acrylic dries in 1-2 minutes.
  4. To paint with undiluted acrylic paints you will need a hard brush (rectangular and wide). In the process of drawing, it is best to first draw large parts with a wide brush, and then move on to small ones and use a core brush. Do not stay in one and the same area; movements should be fast. If undiluted acrylic is applied in a thin layer, then it will dry in 2-3 minutes. A thick layer of acrylic can dry up to 20 minutes.
  5. Blot the brush from time to time. Do not rush to use the brush, washing off the paint with water. Apply the brush to a clean, dry cloth to avoid stains on the canvas.
  6. Acrylic paints can be diluted not only with water. To create interesting glaze or marbling effects, add glaze or texture paste. Such a paste, having created the necessary effect, will slightly muffle the color. But this can easily be fixed by applying varnish to dried paint (the picture will glisten spectacularly).
  7. In addition, these paints can be mixed with each other. For this procedure, you will need an acrylic based thinner. This substance allows acrylic paints to remain in a "state of life" longer and easier to mix. Thinner can be applied both to the brush and directly to the canvas. Try to apply paint with the edge of the brush to evenly distribute it. Otherwise, a hard brush will scratch the paint. For proper mixing of acrylic paints, rinse and wipe the brush. Move the colors towards each other. In the process, they themselves will begin to mix. Sometimes for homogeneity and uniformity of mixing paints it will be necessary to add a little water or a special diluent.
  8. If you need to draw a perfectly straight line or make the contours as straight and straight as possible, then for this purpose you can use masking tape. Stick it on already well-dried paint. In the process of draining new paint will not capture the bottom layer. Remove masking tape after drawing the desired line.
  9. If necessary, you can easily learn to darken and lighten any color. This is done by adding black or white to the paint. Dark colors can be brighter than light. Add white with extreme caution. Even a small amount can greatly affect the color. If you add black, you can darken the picture. Black should be handled more carefully than white. Mix any color with black must be neat and thorough. Otherwise, unwanted black spots may occur on already dried paint.
  10. In order to finish the picture and give it brightness, you can use markers, pencils and even pens (both helium and ball) over dried acrylic paint.
